The Ennis Lady Lions got off to a rough start with defensive miscues leading to two Waxahachie runs in the top of the first inning, but a two run home run by Riley Fira immediately tied the game leading to a seven run rally in the next inning to put Ennis’s 9-4 victory beyond doubt.

Coach Rodney McNeill said the home run got the Lady Lions back in the game and took the Lady Indians out of it.

“It totally deflated them and boosted our confidence,” he said. “It was a game turner.”
