Library project on hold

Not every development affected by the May 2013 tornado was in downtown.

The Ennis Public Library has been waiting since 2010 for the available funds to augment nearly $640,000 in donations to expand the facility. At that time, former City Manager Steve Howerton said rough estimates for taking the rest of the block on which the library sits and developing it as additional space for the library could cost between $800,000 and $1 million.
