The Ennis Lions (1-0) kicked off the 2013 season with a morale-boosting 43-14 victory over the Burleson Centennial Spartans (0-1). The Lions gave fans a preview of the diverse talent the team has this season with a variety of offensive plays and defensive stops by multiple defensemen.

“A 43-14 win, that’s a great way to start the season,” Lion linebacker Ke’idre Flowers said. “After today we’re more confident. We’re striving for 16-0 and after getting our first win, it’s momentum. This is what we worked hard for.”
