For the second time this season, the Lion defense pitched a shutout in three of four quarters on a rainy Friday night in Forney.
This time, however, Ennis (2-2, 1-1) earned a victory for its efforts after achieving the feat in the loss to Keller Fossil-Ridge. The Lions held the Jackrabbits (1-3, 0-2) to just 184 yards of offense in the 14-10 win.
“It’s a whole different world from 1-1 to 0-2 (in district),” said coach Jack Alvarez. “We’ve got a shot and we can keep playing for something. The guys were prepared coming in, and a big part of it for us is confidence. As it grows, our kids will play better each week.”
