Man jailed in crash

Nick Todaro[email protected]

A 45-year-old from Edmond spent Christmas in Ellis County lockup after failing to help a motorist after allegedly crashing his car into hers.

Michael Daniels was reportedly driving on U.S. 287 around noon Tuesday when he lost control and smashed his pickup truck into a Toyota Corolla driving near him. Det. Sgt. Mike Hopson, public information officer for the Ennis Police Department, said an off-duty Fort Worth police officer happened to witness the crash and followed Daniels, calling in to report the incident to Ennis authorities.
