Manager: Ennis economy stayed strong

Ennis City Manager Steve Howerton is confident the local economy has likely emerged from the economic downturn in better shape than many larger area municipalities.

Among the positive signs, the city forecasts a total of $276 million in taxable sales through the end of the calendar year, Howerton said.
