Marshal reports progress

Extra fire inspections hired by Ellis County are making headway through the backlog of fire inspections since the adoption of the new fire code.

Fire Marshal Joe Stewart hired two part-time fire inspectors on April 22, per the authorization of the Ellis County Commissioners Court. With their help, his department has been able to finish 241 general fire inspections, 11 heavy industrial inspections, three inspections of foster or group homes and two inspections of large public assembly areas.
