Power is out in eastern Ennis as ice accumulations have downed trees and lines in the area.

City Manager Steve Howerton reports that icy conditions began settling in after sun-up and Oncor is reporting about 1,100 homes on the eastern side of town without power. Traffic lights stretching from Kaufman to I-45 were also out after 10 a.m. today.

Further updates from Oncor are expected throughout the day.
