Music celebration coming up Friday

Unity in the Community’s second annual Music Under the Son celebration for Black Music Month is coming Friday.
The event is set for 6 p.m. at Roger Maise Park on the corner of Jones Street and Martin Luther King in Ennis. Musical offerings are expected to include performances of blues, rhythm and blues, hip-hop and gospel. The North Texas Black Music Festival in Ennis began last year under Unity’s direction with a cast of local and regional talent, and more of that brand of entertainment is planned this year.
