New Ranger comes to Ellis County post

Ellis County’s new Texas Ranger knows full well he’s part of an organization with a long and storied history, as that history extends into his own family.

Adam Sweaney became a Ranger shortly before assuming his post on Dec. 1 in Waxahachie. He followed in the footsteps of his father, retired Ranger Richard Sweaney, who presented him with his badge and certificate at his promotion.
