Pierce claims EISD board seat

Unofficial results from polling for the open seat on the Ennis Independent School District Board of Trustees reveal Julie Pierce claimed the Place 6 seat with more than 75 percent of votes cast.
Of 1,310 total votes, Pierce secured 985. Her opponents, Dean Blazek and Terri Barton, earned 200 and 125 total votes, respectively.
Early voting saw the majority of the election’s action. When early voting ended, Pierce had tallied 604 total votes, with Blazek logging 115 and Barton garnering 71 votes.
Bramlet Beard, running unopposed as the incumbent board member in Place 7, tallied 1,186 votes. Of those, 770 came in early voting and 416 were cast on Election Day on Saturday.
