Pitts: 287 project is a go

State Rep. Jim Pitts announced Thursday the state department of transportation is planning to fund the project costs for updating the two-lane section of the U.S. 287 Bypass in Ennis.
Pitts, a Waxahachie Republican and head of the House Appropriations Committee in Austin, told visitors with the Ennis Day in Austin delegation TxDOT has backed the project for the coming biennium, and the project would be included in the budget being crafted in Austin.
