Pitts backs guns bill

State Rep. Jim Pitts has come down on the side of gun rights activists.
Pitts, R-Waxahachie, co-authored a bill headlined by Rep. John Otto, R-Dayton, called the “Second Amendment Preservation Act.” The bill, introduced this week in the state Legislature, came in response to federal actions that could “unconstitutionally restrict the right to bear arms,” according to a release from Pitts’s office.
