Meals on Wheels of Johnson and Ellis Counties is helping local seniors with a new Medicare program designed to help them pay for their prescriptions.
The Extra Help program, offered by the federal government, is a cost assistance program for seniors on a fixed income to help defray the costs of medication.
Lori Moon, case manager with Meals on Wheels, said any of their clients who meet certain financial criteria qualify for the program.
