Ennis veterans and their advocates marked a major milestone Friday with the groundbreaking of the Ennis Veterans Memorial.
A small crowd braved the rainy, dreary morning to watch veterans Larry Fincher and Dan Cook, along with Mayor Russell Thomas and City Manager Steve Howerton turn the first ceremonial shovel-fulls of dirt.
