Prom dresses available for those in need
EDN photo by Phil Banker / EHS teacher Vicki Chmelar and senior Maddie Hibbs hold some of the many dresses Chmelar has available for prom-going students in need. Chmelar has collected dresses to lend to students for the past ten years, and is assisted this year by the Leading Ennis Against Destructive Decisions headed by Hibbs.

Every Spring for the past ten years, Ennis High School teacher Vicki Chmelar gets to play Fairy Godmother for a few EHS students in need.
Chmelar keeps a collection of used prom dresses in her classroom to be lent out to girls who would otherwise have difficulty buying a new one. This year, however, she’s been assisted by the Leading Ennis Against Destructive Decisions club, who also collected dresses for the cause.
