Sales tax revenue droops

Ennis saw monthly sales tax revenue dip sharply in December, and this month’s payment from the state comptroller’s office is nearly 12 percent off last year’s allocation.

Ennis ended 2013’s tax reporting year up more than 7.5 percent with an annual revenue level of $4,116,636.28 for the year. Last January, the city received a payment of $345,206.04, and this month’s payment is $304,095.77.
