School board works to avoid $1M deficit

The Ennis ISD School Board gave recommendations to Assistant Superintendent of Finance Lisa Fincher on how to move forward with budget planning to avoid a possible $1 million budget deficit.

Fincher said the costs of HVAC and roofing projects in the district, along with increases to costs related to health insurance and the Teacher Retirement System have led to ballooning costs that could put the district in the red.
