Specialist retires after six decades


 

Douglas Madewell

Longtime radio and TV repairman, Douglas Madewell retired Monday after being in business repairing radios and TVs in Ennis for 64 years.

Madewell started repairing radios at the age of 17 in a little shed within the old OK Garage, which was located on North Kaufman Street. He married Lorena Walker on Feb. 10,1944, they have two children, James and Jimmy.
