‘Steel Magnolias’ soars

Steel Magnolias at Theatre Rocks! delivers exactly what any fan of that story would want: A soulful, honest interpretation of a classic drama that is near and dear to the hearts of Southerners.

Those who haven’t seen the 1989 movie will walk away from the local production of the Robert Harling play touched by one of the better pieces of theater to be produced in this community in recent years.

Director Bill Rhoten took his time in casting this show, and that bit of discretion ended up making all the difference.
