Tea party delights centenarians

Phil Banker[email protected]

The staff and residents of the IOOF Nursing Home took time during their annual Mother’s Day tea party to honor the home’s oldest residents for their birthday.

The tea party tradition began six years ago, according to Activity Director Kay Cobb. This year, however, they took time out to honor 101-year-old Alafrank Shaw and 100-year-old Crecy Alford.

Alford turned 100 Friday, while Shaw is set to turn 102 on May 18.
