An Ennis High School teacher’s golf expertise enabled him to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience this past week involving a former president and heroic wounded warriors.
Joel Davenport, social studies teacher and National Honor Society sponsor at EHS, also has coaching golf on his resume.
Because of his affiliation with the Texas Golf Association, Davenport was asked to serve as a rules official for the Warrior Open golf tournament held Sept. 25 in Irving. The tournament for 22 wounded warriors was sponsored by former President George W. Bush, who was in attendance.
