Top 20 under 40: Dr. Alfonso Ballesteros

Old school medicine was known for wacky syrups that calmed teething infants to nostrums and liniments, even traveling medicine shows. But it also offered things like house calls from the doctor and a much more human touch; doctors who took the time to get to know their patients.

Enter the present age and Dr. Alfonso Ballesteros.

He was nominated for the Top 20 Under 40 series by a pair of locals; Kevin Zachary, the CEO at both the Ennis Regional Medical Center and the Parkview Regional Hospital in Mexia, and Terri Barton, the Business Development Director at Ennis Regional.

Dr. Ballesteros deserves to be brought out to the community,” Zachary said. “He has such a heart for helping people.
