United Way sets $350,000 target

The Greater Ennis United Way is preparing to start its annual charity drive on Thursday, with its volunteers hoping to reach another high watermark.
Campaign chair Jenny Vidrine said the 2012 Kickoff Luncheon, set for noon Thursday at Tabernacle Baptist Church, will herald the start of their efforts to raise $350,000 for local charities. Plates at the luncheon cost $10.
