If their record is any indication, the Waxahachie Indians (7-1, 6-0) will present the toughest challenge of the season this evening for the host Lions (2-6, 1-5) in the 2011 Battle of 287.
Indians’ road
In week one, the Indians lost to Flower Mound Marcus — currently tied for 16th in the 5A state rankings — by a 51-21 margin. It was the only time this season Waxahachie lost the turnover battle (2-1), and Marcus rushed for 347 yards at a clip of 8.9 yards per tote. Top Indian offensive players were quarterback Don King III (16-26-1, 193 passing yards, 2 TD), running back Robert Lowe Jr. (10-76) and receiver Terrance Hawkins (8-142-2).
