Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas has dispatched their Mobile Workforce Unit to the Waxahachie Workforce Center to assist hundreds of laid off workers until 4 p.m. today.
Approximately 350 people were given pink slips from their jobs at International Extrusion, US Aluminum, and Raco. The companies shut down overnight.
“It is unfortunate that so many people are now out of a job in Waxahachie,” said WSNCT Executive Director David Setzer. “However, we will do our best to assist them in finding new jobs. The WSNCT Mobile Workforce Unit will be a huge asset in this process.”
The WSNCT Mobile Workforce Unit is a 38-foot vehicle outfitted with 13 computer stations and a top-notch presentation system. With a satellite internet system clients can search for jobs, improve their resumes and apply for unemployment benefits online.
