Years-old case closes on trial

Accused of sexual assault, 41-year-old Desoto resident Lavail Miller has rejected a plea agreement on her way to a July 23 jury trial.
Miller, arrested in October 2010 as part of an investigation into a crime that originally occurred in 2004, is shown by 40th District Court records to have skipped on the plea June 15. The agreement included facets such as 10 years of state jail time, 10 years of community supervision and a fine, according to the court’s online records.
