Gilbert (Bert) Goldmon (03-17-2010)
Gilbert (Bert) Goldmon was born in McKinney, Texas to G.H. and Wilena (Little) Goldmon on Sept. 23, 1937.
He passed from this life into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 15,2010. Our loss is heavens gain.
Bert grew up in Alba, Texas and graduated from Ennis High School in May of 1955. After a 21 year courtship, on March 11, 2010 he married Katherine T. Goldmon and they made their home in Seagoville, Texas.
He served proudly in the United State Air Force. He retired after a 35 year career from AT&T.
He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Ennis now known as Cross Point Baptist Church and was a member of the Pioneers of America.
He is survived by his wife and lifelong friend, Katherine Goldmon; two sons: Marcus Julian Knight and Cecil Tatum and wife, Kris; two daughters: Marla Rowland and Kara and her husband, Marcus Madrigal; and four grandchildren Chance Tatum, Sierra Madrigal, Juan Marc Madrigal, and Noella Madrigal.
He is preceded in death by his parents, G.H. Goldmon and Wilena Cundiff and His Beloved Grandma Sena.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 18, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at J.E. Keever Mortuary.
Services will be Friday, March 19, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Jerry Parmentier officiating.
Pallbearers will be Cecil Tatum, Marcus Madrigal, Thomas Short, Noe Leal, Chance Tatum and Marcus Randell.
Honorary pallbearer will be Juan Marc Madrigal. Bert was a beloved husband and lifelong companion to Kathy and a wonderful example to his children and grandchildren.
He will be missed but we KNOW we will see him again. Interment will follow at Myrtle Cemetery, under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
