Tommy R. Stewart Sr. (05-21-2010)
Tommy R. Stewart, Sr., 71, passed away in Corsicana on Monday, May 17, 2010.
Tommy was born in Corsicana, Texas on June 18, 1938 to H.W. and Dora (Claxton) Stewart. He grew up in Corsicana and attended school in Corsicana. On July 4, 1958 he married Jo Ann Knott and they made their home in Corsicana. He was a proud member of the Texas National Guard.
Tommy worked for Mobil Oil Company for twenty three years as a machinist until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of the Baptist church. He loved to work on and repair small engines.
He is survived by his wife Jo Ann Stewart of Corsicana; two sons: Tommy Ray Stewart, Jr. and his wife, Lori of Locust Grove, Georgia and David Stewart of Burleson, Texas; three grandchildren: Brendon, Haley and Jordan; two brothers: Odie Stewart of Corsicana and James Stewart of Waxahachie; and one sister, Dorothy Nichols of Garland, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 from 6 until 8 p.m. at J.E. Keever Mortuary. Graveside services will be on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 11 a.m. in Rice Cemetery with Rev. Jim Anderson officiating under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
