Photo of Jackie D. LovelessJackie D. Loveless, 88, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 from the Ennis Regional Medical Center.
Jackie was born to Jackson Cantrell and Winnie (Cole) Elledge on April 25, 1922 in Athens, Texas. She grew up in Athens and graduated from Athens High School in 1942 and then attended Sam Houston State University for two years. She married Samuel T. Loveless on September 4, 1947 and they made their home originally in Bardwell then in Dallas and finally in Ennis in 1959.
She worked in the proof department of Bank of America and then as a nurse’s aide for fifteen years with the Ennis Hospital. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. She was the reporter for Sunday School and was a member of the MAAC Group. Jackie had recently celebrated her 88th birthday with all her family.
She is survived by one son, Samuel T. Loveless, Jr. of Ennis: one daughter, Teena and her husband Neal Grant of Ennis: three grandchildren, Kenneth Bryant, III, Adam Bryant and Kari Camper; nine great grandchildren and one sister, Gracie and her husband, Norman Kneschk of Hamilton, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband Samuel T. Loveless, a WWII veteran on October 5, 1972.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 21, 2010 from 6 until 8 p.m. at J.E. Keever Mortuary. Graveside services will be on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Elm Branch Cemetery in Bardwell with Dr. James Pool officiating under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
