Santiago Banda Zamarripa (05-26-2010)

Santiago was born in Ciudad Acuna Coahuila on Feb. 14, 1934 to Martin and Eulogia (Banda) Zamarripa. On November 17, 1952 he married Florinda Lopez and they made their home in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico. In 1967 they moved from Mexico to Ennis.
Santiago worked for Leggett and Platt for over twenty three years until his retirement in 1990 as a machine operator.
He was a member of the Assembly of God Church, El Buen Pastor.
He is survived by his wife, Florinda L. Zamarripa; three sons: David Zamarripa, Santiago Zamarripa, Jr. and Samuel Zamarripa and his wife, Cindy all of Ennis; six daughters: Leonor and her husband, Filiberto Gallardo of Ennis, Sara and her husband, Pascual Salazar of Ennis, Paula and her husband, Martin Hernandez of Ennis, Ruth F. Zamarripa of Alabama, Maria M. Zamarripa of Ennis and Maria E. Zamarripa of Ennis; thirty-two grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one brother Juan Zamarripa and his wife, Carmela of Mexico and three sisters; Sara and her husband, Romaldo Gayton of Ennis, Paula Zamarripa of Ennis and Evangelina and her husband, Guillemo Gomez. He is preceded in death by one son, Daniel Zamarripa in March of 2009.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 from 6 until 8 p.m. at J.E. Keever Mortuary. Funeral services will be on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel. Pall bearers David Zamarripa, Santiago Zamarripa, Jr., Samuel Zamarripa, Filiberto Gallardo, Martin Hernandez, Pascual Salazar, Anthony Hernandez and Filiberto Gallardo, Jr. Interment will follow at Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
