Ada M. Mills
Ada M. Mills, age 90, passed away on Thursday October 17th, 2013 in Austin, TX. Born in Tyler TX June 21, 1923 and moved to San Angelo with her parents in 1932 to relieve her asthma condition. She graduated from San Angelo High School, where she held first chair violin in the high school orchestra. She married Roy Lee Mills, Oct 16, 1941. He was in the U. S. Air Force, and they lived in many locations including San Antonio, Sequin, Marissa Illinois, Waco, Wiesbaden Germany, Alamogordo New Mexico, and Randolph Air Force Base. After Roy’s retirement from the military, they moved to Waco Texas. She moved from Waco to Ennis in 1965, where Roy worked for the Corps of Engineers at Bardwell Lake. She worked for a time in Real Estate with Crossroad Realty, and later purchased and operated the H&R Block office in Ennis. Lastly, attended Navarro College, and graduated with high honors in the LVN school. She then worked as charge nurse in the Ennis Care Center. She was a charter member of Bluebonnet Patches, a member of Trinity Methodist Church, and attended Church of God in Ennis, TX. She is preceded in death by her husband Roy Lee Mills, father Augustus P. Moncrief in 1951, mother Lillie Beall Moncrief in 1982, brother Garlon Moncrief in 1971, sister Nannie McMillan in 1986, brother Alvin Moncrief in 2007, and most recently her sister Madge Holiman in 2013. She is survived by her children: son Roy L. Mills Jr. and wife Karen of Austin, daughter Annette Franklin and husband Thomas of Ennis. She is survived by her four grandsons: Robert Franklin and wife Allison, Randy Franklin and wife Cassie, Andrew Mills and wife Rachel, and David Mills. There will be a memorial service held at a later date in Tyler, TX and followed by burial in Edom, TX.
