Alice G. Skrivanek


Alice G. Skrivanek, 92, passed away in Ennis on Wednesday, December 19, 2012. Alice was born in Ennis, Texas on June 28, 1920 to Joe and Angeline (Slovak) Galetka. She grew up in Ennis and attended school in the Crisp Schools. On November 25, 1937 she married John Wesley Skrivanek and they made their home in Ennis. Alice owned Alice’s Beauty Shop for over thirty years. She was a member of the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. She enjoyed being outdoors, gardening and helping her husband farm. She is survived by one daughter, Joanie and her husband, Patrick “Butch” Hykel of Ennis; grandson, Jonathan Hykel and his wife, Emily; three great-grandchildren: Bryce, Melanie and Trent; one brother, Raymond Galetka of Ore City, Texas and one sister, Mary Slovacek of Ennis. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Wesley Skrivanek in 1991, two sisters and one brother. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2012 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Rosary at 7 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 1 p.m. in the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis with Father John Dick as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery of Ennis under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. www.jekeevermortuary.com
