Alvin C. Haynes Sr.
Alvin C. Haynes Sr., 78, of Ennis, TX passed away on Sat. Dec. 29, 2012. He will always be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to all that knew him. He was a faithful member of the Independent Missionary BC until his health failed him. He was born Jan. 7, 1934 to the late Horatio Haynes Sr. and the late Cecil Tarrant Alexander. He was a 1953 graduate of George Washington Carver High School. He was later drafted to the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Eva Middlebrooks in 1956. And to this union five children were born, Katrina, Antonia, Aundrel, LaDonna and Alvin Jr. He was employed 30 years with Southern Pacific/Union Railroad. Survivors include children: Kenneth McElroy, Zelma McDavid, Katrina Luckey (Anthony), Antonia Morris (Jerry), Aundrel Young (Stacy Sr.), LaDonna Haynes, and Alvin Haynes Jr.; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, one sister Faye Morrison (Walter), one brother Horatio Haynes Jr. (Sheila). Wake Service: Jan. 3, 2013 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Independent Missionary BC, 1108 W. Milam St., Ennis, TX 75119. Funeral service: Jan. 4, 2013 at 11 a.m. at The “Exciting” Singing Hills BC, 6550 University Hills Dr., Dallas, TX 75241. Interment will be Jan. 7, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at DFW National Cemetery, Dallas, TX. Funeral services are entrusted with Ray-Thomas Funeral Home, 811 W. Brown, Ennis, TX. 75119.
