Anita Carter, 84, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2013 in Ennis, Texas. Anita was born in Midlothian, Texas on July 16, 1928 to Bertie and Ellie (Bearden) Hollabaugh. She grew up in Midlothian and graduated from Midlothian High School. After she and James E. Carter married they made their home in Waxahachie and then in Ennis. She worked as a sewing machine operator for over fifteen years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ennis and the Rebekah Lodge of Ennis. She enjoyed sewing, reading and working word search puzzles. She is survived by one sister, Merle Byrd; sister-in-law, Mary Hollabaugh; brother-in-law, Bill McKee, along with many nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, James E. Carter, Jr., five brothers and two sisters. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. and the service will begin at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 11, 2013 in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. Interment will follow at the Mountain Peak Cemetery in Mountain Peak under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. www.jekeevermortuary.com
