Anna Bell Vestal
Anna B. Vestal, 99, passed away in Ennis on Wednesday, January 2, 2013. Anna was born in Palmer, Texas, on October 29, 1913 to Bert and Roxanna (Clardy) Cox. She grew up in Palmer and Dalton, Texas and attended school in Dalton. On September 24, 1930 she married Henry Thomas “H.T.” Vestal and they made their home in Dalton. She had been a long time member of First Baptist Church of Ennis and was now a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Ennis where she was a member of the Women’s Missionary Auxiliary. She loved to cook and enjoyed reading. She is survived by her sons: Jack Vestal of Dallas, Ronny Vestal and Jimmy Vestal of Ennis; daughter, Berta Rae and her husband, H.J. Cannon, Jr. of Fairfield; grandchildren: Michael Hodges and his wife Sharon, Deborah Redding and her husband, Dale, Cassidy Smith, Dale Ferguson and his wife Janeen; great-grandchildren: Angela Lane, Scott Hodges, John Redding, Sarah Redding and Natalie Welch; great-great-grandchild, Brett Redding and her special friend and caregiver Mary Perez, her son Ronny was her primary caregiver. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, H.T. Vestal, son, Jerry Vestal, grandson, Roger Vestal and great grandson Jacob Hodges. Visitation will be on Sunday, January 6, 2013 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Celebration of her life will take place on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Rev. Kenny Cashion officiating. Interment will follow in the Bristol Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
