Antonia Olalde Escamilla

Antonia Olalde Escamilla, 89, passed away in Dallas on Monday, February 4, 2013. Antonia was born in Henderson County on March 15, 1923 to Jose and Maria (Gutierez) Olalde and grew up in Henderson County. She married Alberto Escamilla in 1938 and they made their home in the Byrd-Rankin Area. She worked for the Ennis Nursing Home for over eighteen years as a Nurses’ Aide. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She also enjoyed sewing and gardening. She is survived by one son, Domingo Escamilla; one grandson, James Frye; nieces: Lucy, Lupe, Janie and Maria: one great-niece Crystal and her pet and companion ChaCha. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother and several sisters. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in Friday, February 8, 2013 with Rosary at 7 p.m. on Friday, February 8, 2013. A Celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, February 9, 2013 in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel at 10 a.m. with Father Antonio Ormaza officiating.
