Bethel May Uselton Hegar


2243959Bethel May Uselton Hegar, 81, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Tuesday, September 17, 2013. Bethel was born in Vernon, Tx on January 25, 1932 to Rev. Robert Thomas and Sallie Margaret (Harrison) Uselton. She graduated from Southwestern High School in Waxahachie in 1950. She attended Southwestern Bible Institute from 1950 to 1955. She received her B.A. in English from North Texas State University in 1956. She also received her Masters degree in English and Psychology from NTSU in 1962. On August 13, 1966 she married Frank A. Hegar and they made their home in Frisco and after Frank’s passing, Beth moved to Waxahachie in 1988. She worked for the Frisco ISD as a Middle School Principal, for Dallas ISD as a Teacher and for Southwestern Assembly of God College and El Centro College as a professor. She was a lifelong member of the Assemblies of God and Delta Kappa Gamma. She traveled on several missionary trips, including to England, the Philippines, and to a communist “closed country”. She is survived by two sons: Frank A. Hegar, Jr. and his wife, Lori of Ennis, Randy Hegar and his wife, Stephanie of Rowlett; Darlene Robinson, whom she raised as a daughter, and her husband, Dale of Italy; six grandchildren: Amber Hegar, Frank Wesley Hegar, Brittany Hegar, Veronica Kemp, Sabrina Kemp and Matthew Kemp; thirteen great-grandchildren and her twin sister, Ethel White of Ennis. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and two sisters. Visitation will be on Friday, September 20, 2013 from 6 until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Celebration of her life will take place on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis.. Interment will follow at Calloway Cemetery in Euless, Texas at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bethel’s name to the Gideon Bible Society, Southwestern Assemblies of God University, or to your favorite missionary. www.jekeevermortuary.com
