Betty Jane Claxton
Betty Jane Claxton, 77, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at her home celebrating her birthday. Betty was born to Marlin Alexander and Lucille (Johnson) Knotts on July 3, 1935. She grew up in Italy, Texas. On June 4, 1976 she married Jesse Claxton, Jr. and they made their home in Corsicana before moving to Milford in 1990. She worked as a nurse’s aide for thirty years in various health facilities, she also worked as a surgical assistance at Corsicana Memorial Hospital for over five years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Milford and raised her children in Tabernacle Baptist Church of Ennis. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and quilting. She is survived by three sons, Jeff Claxton and wife Pat, Craig Burkes and Andrew Ford; two daughters: Anna Boone and Diane Hunt; fourteen grandchildren: thirty great-grandchildren: one brother, Lonnie Earl Knotts and four sisters: Mary Faye Perkins, Dorothy Perkins, Carolyn Claxton and Joanne Aldridge. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jesse Claxton, son, Stephen Mark Ford, daughter, Nancy Gail Ford and brother, James Roy Knotts. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 8, 2012 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis, Texas. Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 9, 2012 at 1 p.m. in the Oakwood Cemetery of Corsicana, Texas under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. www.jekeevermortuary.com
