Betty S. Fleming


2419963Betty S. Fleming, 86, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Sunday, February 16, 2014. Betty was born in Mission, Texas on March 11, 1927 to Patrick J. and Essie (Gibbs) Sweeney. She grew up in Sharyland, Texas and graduated from Sharyland High School. She attended Baylor University and Southern Methodist University. On January 30, 1947 she married Ervin T. Fleming, III they lived in the Dallas area, then moved to Bristol in 1970 and she moved to Ennis in 1993. She was a member of the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis she was a volunteer at Helping Hands. She is survived by two sons: Tom Fleming and his wife Tess of Grand Prairie, Jim Fleming and his wife Lin of Whitney; daughters: Beth Cooper and her husband Greg of Fort Worth, Karen Haskovec and her husband Ronald of Ennis; four grandchildren: Lisa Majerus, Douglas Haskovec, Daniel Haskovec and David Haskovec and three great-grandchildren: Preston Majerus, Ethan Majerus and Lily Majerus. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ervin T. Fleming III, two sister, Mary Dale and Mary Sweeney and one brother, Buddy Sweeney. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. Mass of the Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, Februarys 19, 2014 at 10 a.m. in the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis with Father John Dick as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to the S.
