Carla Jane Witt


2233745Carla Jane Witt, 57, passed away in Tyler, Texas on Tuesday, September 10, 2013. Carla was born in Dallas, Texas on December 22, 1955 to Jack Carl and Alice Jane (Hestand) Witt. She graduated from Putnam City High School of Oklahoma City, OK in 1974 and went on to attend Business College. She worked for the Dallas Morning News as the TV Guide Editor for several years, for the Sherwood Medical Incorporated as an executive secretary and was the owner of R. C. Pallet Company. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Palmer. She enjoyed horseback riding, interior decorating, and arts and crafts. She loved music of all kinds, spending time at the lake and all spectator sports especially NASCAR. She is survived by one son, Matt Dillon and his wife, Brandy of Palmer; father, Jack Witt and his wife, Mary Nell of Palmer; two grandchildren: Derek and Tori Dillon; one brother, Brett Witt and his wife, Sonja of Palmer and niece and nephew: Brenna and Zach Witt. She is preceded in death by her mother, Alice Jane (A.J.) Witt on January 14, 2012. Visitation will be on Saturday, September 14, 2013 from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Palmer. A Celebration of her life will take place at 10 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Bruce Carpenter officiating. Private interment services will follow under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice. www.jekeevermortuary.com
