Cecil Ray picture184Cecil Mae Ray, 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 23, 2013 at Legends Oaks Healthcare Home in Ennis, Texas. She was born in Altus, Oklahoma on May 6, 1920. She married Webb Ray on August 16, 1934 and lived in Chatfield until January of 2013. She was a member of the Chatfield Methodist Church for over 70 years. She retired from Texas Miller Hat Factory and worked in the cafeteria at Rice I.S.D. for 22 years. She was a great lover of animals and loved to cook. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Johnnie and John Cummings; husband, Webb Ray; brother, John Robert Cummings and grandson, Michael Wayne Ray. She is survived by her son, Uyliss Ray and wife Shirley of Ennis; two daughters, Kathy Ellington and husband Pat of Georgetown and C.J. Whitacre of Grandbury; seven grandchildren, Suzanne, Teresa, Greg, Bryan, David, Scott and Chris; thirteen great grandchildren, Niki, Scarlett, Jarred,Tiffani, Allie, Brianna. Colby, Olivia, Sony, Luke. Owen, Lucy and Beau; three great great grandchildren, Aravis, Addie and Jaiden. Visitation will be Sunday, December 29, 2013 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will be 10:00am Monday, December 30, 2013 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Diggs officiating. Interment will be at New Chatfield Cemetery. Pallbearers Bryan Whitacre, David Whitacre, Scott Ellington, Chris Ellington, Kevin Hamm, Scarlett Hamm. Honorary Pallbearers Niki, Tiffani, Allie, Jarred, Breanna, Colby.
