Dennis Joe Laza
Dennis Joe Laza, 54, left his earthly home for his new home built for him in Heaven.
Dennis was born Nov. 18, 1957 in Ennis, Texas to Joe H. and Geraldine Alice (Krajca) Laza. He grew up in Ennis and graduated from St. John High School in 1976. On September 8, 1979 he married his soul-mate and love of his life, Lisa Gale Tidwell. They made their home in Ennis.
He worked for Al Krajca Construction Company for many years where his carpentry began. Later he began his own business, Dennis Laza Construction, from 1981 until 2005. At the time of his death, Dennis was employed by the Dallas ISD as a carpenter. He was a member of The Avenue Church of Waxahachie, Knights of Columbus, and KJT. His love of nature and the outdoors was shown in his beautiful landscaping at his home. He enjoyed hunting; not only for the sport, but for the time he was able to spend with his family and friends. He loved living on the farm and sharing his knowledge and skills with his grandson, Ty and others. He enjoyed making his own Klobase. He was a great woodworker and could create beautiful woodcrafts including building his own home for his family and the homes of many of his extended family. He was a quiet man with a big heart and hardworking values that he passed along to others.
He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-three years, Lisa G. Laza ; daughter, Kelsey Baker; grandson, Ty Baker; brother, Jimmy Laza and his wife, Elaine of Ennis; sister, Carol Gilmore of Ennis; brothers-in-law: Leslie Tidwell and his wife, Shelia and Gary Tidwell and his wife, Kelley; his (second mother) mother-in-law, Bobbie Tidwell; his faithful dog, Luke along with nieces, nephews and a host of wonderful other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Doris Godwin, brother-in-law, Jimmy Gilmore and his (second father) father-in-law, Howard Tidwell.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 12, 2012 from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Rev. David Brown and Barry Kitchens officiating.
