Ernest Carl Hamm
Ernest Carl Hamm, 89, passed away in Dallas, Texas on Friday, August 17, 2012.
Carl was born in Trumbull, Texas, on December 11, 1922 to Fred and Grace (Davis) Hamm. He grew up in Trumbull and attended school in Ferris, Texas. He married Frances Stacks and they made their home in Dallas. He served his country proudly in the United States Army as a Paratrooper during World War II.
He worked for Ford Motor Company for thirty-two years until his retirement. He enjoyed gardening and was well known for his gardening skills. He was even still working in his garden recently.
He is survived by his son, Joe Hamm and his wife, LeAnn; grandchildren: Jennifer Pollack, Josey Dunagan, Jodey McCarson and Joe Hamm, Jr.; great-grandchildren: Jaxson Dunagan, Brailee Jo Dunagan, Katie Jo Pollack, Jacob Pollack, Josh Pollack and Victoria Pollack; honorary grandchildren; Jennifer Williams, Becky Dailey, Katie Oliver, Hailie Oliver, Cassidy Oliver, Camessia Robinson, Javonte Robinson, Angel Lewis and Deja Lewis and one sister: Mildred. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Frances, three brothers, Henry, Willie Lloyd and Albert along with one sister, Jenny.
Visitation was on Saturday, August 18, 2012 one hour before services beginning at 9 a.m. A Celebration of his life took place on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Palmer with Rev. Steve Oliver officiating. Interment will follow in Palmer Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. www.jekeevermortuary.com
