George Riley Stephens
George Riley Stephens, 75, went home to his Lord, Monday, December 17th at Navarro Regional Hospital in Corsicana. George was born in Bonham, Texas on August 9, 1937 to Jim and Roxie Stephens. He met the love of his life, Cora, in Ennis and they were married in 1958. They made their home in Chatfield. George worked for Leggett & Platt in Ennis for 20 years, retiring in 2003. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. George was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Haskell Stephens, Willie Norman Stephens and wife Sarah Evelyn, Jimmy Stephens, Wayne Stephens, Dewayne Stephens, Damon Stephens and Billy Stephens, sister Ellen Stephens Naves and brother in law Virgil; and daughter in law Carolyn Stephens. Surviving are his wife of 55 years Cora; three sons, Billy Stephens and wife Vanita of Rice, Jessie Stephens of Kaufman, Lloyd Dwight Stephens of Chatfield; grandchildren, Laura Stephens Fira and husband Jake, Josh Stephens, Christopher Stephens, Billy Stephens, Jr., and Justin Alsup; great grandchildren, Andrew Fira and Alexander Fira; brother, Cletis Stephens; sister, Betty Stephens Henderson and husband Tracey and numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. on Wednesday, December 19, 2012, at the Boze Mitchell McKibbin Funeral Home in Ennis. Graveside Services will be held at 10 A.M. on Thursday, December 20, 2012, at the New Chatfield Cemetery in Chatfield TX.
