Geraldine Gressett


Geraldine Gressett, 85, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Friday, December 21, 2012. Geraldine was born on July 24, 1927 to William Charles and Carmie (Hale) Wilhoite in Bryan, Texas. She graduated from Archer City High School in 1944 and attended Abilene Christina College and North Texas Women’s College. On November 16, 1947 she married Roy Chester Gressett and they made their home in Archer City then to Wichita Falls, Iowa Park and to Ennis in 1963. She was a member of the Church of Christ and the Republican Women. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and reading. She is survived by one son, Roy J. Gressett of Ennis; three daughters: Nancy and her husband Charles Porter of Houston, Gerri and her husband William Huthmacher of Austin and Sherrie and her husband Ron Bunch of Waxahachie; none grandchildren: eight great-grandchildren: two brothers: James Wilhoite of Midland and Gary Wilhoite of Oklahoma City and two sisters: Laverne Luig of Archer City and Frances Paul of Houston. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roy Gressett on October 24, 20016, two sisters, Marlene and Faye and one great-grandson Todd Crow, Jr. Memorial services will be held at the Church of Christ in Ennis on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 2 p.m. under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc., a time of visitation will be held after the service in the Family Life Center at the Church of Christ. www.jekeevermortuary.com
