J.T. Amos, age 62, passed away in Brownsville, Tennessee on May 21, 2014. He was born on February 24, 1952 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to James Thomas, Sr. and Mary Irlee (Silvers) Amos. He married Iris on May 16, 2009 in Waxahachie. He was a longtime member of the Mason Lodge 81 and was a past grand master. James was a member of the Iron Order Motorcycle Chapter since 2009 and was currently Vice President of the Dallas Club; he loved to ride. He was employed by Owens Corning for 42 years.
James is survived by his loving wife, Iris Lucero of Ennis; sons, Gerald Glenn Amos of Waxahachie, Christopher Paul Amos and wife Mayra of Ennis, Cesar Dorado and wife Lety, Ulises Dorado and wife Norma; daughter, Grisel Panyagua and husband Gerado; brother, Terry Amos and wife Mylinda of Ennis; grandchildren, Ethin, Jay, Alexis, Lucero, Brenda, Cesar, Pepe, Chelssi, Gissel, Geraldine, Brayan, Eric, and Leonardo; nephews, Phillip Amos and Galyn Amos.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Amos; and one niece, Jennifer Nicole Amos.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Ennis.
A graveside service will be held at 3 P.M. Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Myrtle Cemetery in Ennis.
