Katherine “Kitty” (Sommrude) Jane Buffalo


Katherine “Kitty” (Sommrude) Jane Buffalo, 63, passed away in Ennis on July 7, 2012. Kitty was born in Marinette, Wisconsin to Harold Joseph and Clara Eva (Webster) Smith on June 23, 1949. She married Billy Jack Buffalo on May 10, 1990 and they have lived in the Ennis area for fifteen years. She worked as a CNA for the IOOF Nursing Home for several years. She was a member of the Catholic Church. She was a member of the Oneida Tribe of Wisconsin. She is survived by her husband, Billy Jack Buffalo; daughters Andrea Dee Sommrude of Sturgeon Bay, WI, Elizabeth Sommrude of Sturgeon Bay, WI and Angelia Gehringer of Shawano, WI; granddaughters: Katie and Kelli Degrave of Brussels, WI and Nicole Jorgensen of Sturgeon Bay, WI; grandson, Jonathan Doxtator of Sturgeon Bay, WI; four great-grandchildren: Brooklynn, Tori, James and Dawson; brother, Loyde Smith and his wife, Nancy of Wisconsin and close friends: Lyle and Nancy Popour of Wisconsin. She is preceded in death by her parents Harold Smith and Clara Thompson, one sister and one brother. Visitation will be one hour prior to the memorial service beginning at 9 a.m. July 14, 2012. A Memorial service will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Norman Olson officiating. www.jekeevermortuary.com
