Lillian Ruth Edwards Brazier


2308161Lillian Ruth Edwards Brazier, 85, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 31, 2013 in Ennis, Texas. Ruth was born on February 3, 1928 in Bristol, Texas to Robert Lee and Celestine (Brock) Edwards. She grew up in Bristol and graduated from Ferris High School in 1945. She married Robert Calvin Brazier on November 1, 1947 and they made their home in Wilmer, then to Ferris, then to Ennis in 1970. They lived in Bristol for many years on the family farm with her two Uncles Richard and Hayes Edwards before moving back to Ennis. She was a member of the Anthony Drive Baptist Church of Ennis. She enjoyed word search and crossword puzzles. Her greatest joy was her family. She is survived by one son, Robert Dale Brazier and his wife, Carol; three grandchildren: Phillip Brazier and his wife, Alexis of Cross Roads, Amy and her husband, Ryan Hollingsworth of Ennis and Emily Brazier of Corinth; four great-grandchildren: Hannah Hollingsworth, Jaylee Brazier, Hallie Hollingsworth and Gavin Brazier; one sister, Peggy Muras of Houston along with many beloved nieces and nephews. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of over fifty years Calvin Brazier, one brother, Teddy Buchanan and his wife, Linda, one sister Carolyn June Ratisseau and her beloved uncles Richard and Hayes Edwards. The family wishes to thank the Ennis Care Center and Family First Hospice for the special love and attention they gave her. Visitation will be Friday, November 1, 2013 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Rev. Jerry Fulton officiating. Pallbearers will be Ryan Hollingsworth, David Anthony, Michael Anthony, Jay Hutchison, Brian Boylan and Tony Sinclair, Honorary pallbearer Phillip Brazier. She will later go to rest next to her beloved husband Calvin Brazier in Bristol Cemetery.
