Mildred F. Nekuza O’Quinn


Mildred F. Nekuza O’Quinn, 91, passed away in Dallas, Texas on Monday, September 16, 2013. Mildred was born in Bardwell, Texas on January 30, 1922 to Frank and Anna (Patril) Nekuza. She grew up on a cotton farm in Bardwell and went to Bardwell High School. She had lived in Bardwell, Ennis, Hutchins and for the last fifty years she made her home in Lancaster. She was very well known throughout the community. She worked for Donavan-Galvantti as a pattern designer for many years but spent most of her career with Malouf’s in Dallas, Texas. She enjoyed watching football especially the Dallas Cowboys. She spent her time working in the yard and listening to Czech music but her greatest joy was being with her family. She is survived by one son, Mark O’Quinn of Lancaster; three daughters: Susan Beal and her husband, John Beal of Carrollton, Carol Duffer of Rockwall and Dianna Peebles and her husband, Steve Peebles of Combine; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother and three sisters. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 19, 2013 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. Mass of the Christian Burial will take place on Friday, September 20, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis with Rev. John Dick as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. www.jekeevermortuary.com
